Today you will take your flight towards the northern jungle of Peru from Lima. Upon your arrival to the Jaen Airport, a representative will be waiting to greet you and transfer you to the Gocta Lodge located in Cocachimba, you will be welcomed with an amazing view of the Marañon River and its connecting rivers, and waterfalls. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will have the rest of the day to enjoy at your leisure.
Today we will start the exploration of Chachapoyas with the Gocta waterfall visit, the third highest in the world. There are different routes to get there, but the most popular parts from Cocachimba. In the 5.5 Km of the path, we will cross cane crops, with their traditional trapiches, to later enter a beautiful cloud forest, with trees covered with orchids, lichens, and mosses.
The counselors of the Community will accompany us to explain both the ecosystem that surrounds us like the history of its community and of the waterfall. We recommend you leaving the lodge early to see the cock of the rocks, the emerald toucans, and other birds, as well as being the first ones to reach the falls. After visiting the waterfalls you will go back to your lodge where you will enjoy a delicious local lunch. You have the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
Today, explore and immerse yourself in the fortified city of Kuélap. We will drive you early in the morning to this important archaeological site of the Peru's northern Andes. After a pleasant and panoramic ride in a cable car and 30 minutes walk, we will arrive at this spectacular complex. Shape an architectural complex of stone characterized by its monumentality, with a large artificial platform. This extends over almost 600 m and has a perimeter of a wall that in some points reaches 19 m of height.
It is estimated that its construction began around the 6th century, coinciding with the period of the Chachapoyas culture, and their work should have culminated towards the middle of the sixteenth century.
Its colossal walls and its complex interior architecture are evidence of its function as a well-organized population, including administrative, religious, ceremonial and residential.
In the morning you have the choice to visit Revash or Karajia.
Revash Mausoleums are a necropolis belonging to the Chachapoya culture. They were collective tombs occupying natural caves or dug into the rock wall of an important cliffside. Kauffmann Doig maintains that the mausoleums are replicas of the houses where people of the area lived.
Karajia is an archaeological site in the Utcubamba Valley, located 48km north-east from Chachapoyas. Here were eight Chachapoyan mummies discovered on the cliffside, referred by local residents as the ancient wise men. After, we visit Leymebamba Mummy Museum. This museum is dedicated to the Chachapoyan culture. It has five rooms: three of archaeology, one of ethnography; and one that offers cultural and scientific activities. The museum collection has 261 mummies and more than 200 funerary items.
After an early breakfast, we will transfer you to the Jaen Airport for your domestic flight towards Lima. We truly hope you had a great Cultural Immersion with us!

The booking is accepted when Cultural Immersion receives the first deposit from its clients. At this point in time the contract between client and Cultural Immersion is effective and legally binding.
In order to secure the trip, we will require a 30% deposit of the total package price by the time of your booking.
First Payment: 30% deposit by the time of booking
Second Payment: Full Amount, to be paid 45 days prior to your arrival
In the case the booking will be proceeded 45 or less days to the arrival, the whole amount will be required in once.
If the booking is made 45 days or less from the arrival time then the whole amount will be required at the time of booking.

We reserve the right to cancel a trip at any time for a reason that would compromise the quality of the trip or the safety of the passengers or any other circumstances beyond our control . In this case, we will either refund this part of your trip or aplly this cost to other services (eventual additional cost)
In case we need to cancel the tour (not related to situations beyond our control), we will refund your fully paid pre-payments or work with you to apply those payments to another tour
