This experience is a 3 day immersion in the Andes. You will be staying at our Refugio ecolodge, enjoying the best views of the sacred valley and visiting some of the highlights such as moray and the Salt terraces of Maras, but in a very authentic and sustainable way. This is a must to do if you want to have a magical peaceful out off the beaten track adventure in the Andes.
Today, one of our drivers will transport you from Cusco to the Andean town of Maras. This is a very authentic town that preserves the local culture, tradtitions and history. This place is our home base, from here you will be exploring the area. When you arrive in Maras, there is a light lunch available for acclimatization and you can spend the afternoon as you wish. We reccomend exploring the town and seeing the local life; meeting the people and even their houses! In the evening you can eat at our Andean restaurant, we offer fresh and healthy local food and we also carry vegetarian meals.
In the morning, one of our local tour guides will take you to the Misminay community. From here we will start our trekking around local communities and farms with spectacular views of the Andes, Including the circulate agriculture terraces of Moray. During the trekking, we will enjoy a picnic in the nature and return to the lodge. In the afternoon you will participate in a great sustainable adventure, using our electric assisted bicycles. One of our expert tour guides will take you to the Huaypo lake where you will enjoy slow kayaking with views of the snowcapped mountains and glaciers. After the kayaking you will be taking back to the lodge for a nice dinner.
After breakfast, it is time to visit the salt terraces of Maras. From ancient times onwards, locals use a unique salt mine to produce high quality salt, which is an important aspect of the Peruvian cuisine. After this educational experience, we will continue the trekking down to the sacred valley passing through the river of Urubamba. Finally, we will take a local bus to Urubamba from where you can travel Cusco or Ollantaytambo (the price of the local bus is excluded).Add on: You can always book extra nights at Refugio Maras, including breakfast and dinner. The small villas are constructed and designed carefully to totally fit our guests' needs. Each villa is fully equipped and has spacious, comfortable rooms, including a bathroom, that leaves nothing to be desired. Feel like being in a home away from home and relax in front of the fireplace or take a walk on our beautiful designed property. Villas de Maras has only four private houses where you will not feel like staying in a hotel but in your local house in the Andes.

The booking is accepted when Cultural Immersion receives the first deposit from its clients. At this point in time the contract between client and Cultural Immersion is effective and legally binding.
In order to secure the trip, we will require a 30% deposit of the total package price by the time of your booking.
First Payment: 30% deposit by the time of booking
Second Payment: Full Amount, to be paid 45 days prior to your arrival
In the case the booking will be proceeded 45 or less days to the arrival, the whole amount will be required in once.
If the booking is made 45 days or less from the arrival time then the whole amount will be required at the time of booking.
The first and second payment can be made using credit card via PayPal, Payments made through credit card / paypal are subject to a 5% surcharge.

Change of dates after the deposit has been made: 5% plus any other additional fees that might occur.
Substitution of clients: If any person of of the group is not able to travel, it may be possible to transfer the reserved services to another person. An administration fee of USD plus all incurred costs charged by the service providers will be required.
All appropriate refunds will be made directly to your credit card or bank account, minus any fees indicated
AIR/FLIGHT Cancellations: All air packages and air tickets are subject to cancellation policies imposed by the airlines
We do our best to operate your tour as sold. However, we reserve the right to curtail or modify the itinerary, or to substitute activities, hotels, meals or transportation as we deem necessary
None of these modifications or changes will affect the land package price
We reserve the right to cancel a trip at any time for a reason that would compromise the quality of the trip or the safety of the passengers or any other circumstances beyond our control . In this case, we will either refund this part of your trip or aplly this cost to other services (eventual additional cost)
In case we need to cancel the tour (not related to situations beyond our control), we will refund your fully paid pre-payments or work with you to apply those payments to another tour
All prices shown on this web site are per person and expressed in US Dollars.
For children aged 4 - 9, the package price is based on sharing a room with adults. Prices will be confirmed or advised at the time you book
Once we receive your deposit, your tour package price is guaranteed and any subsequent price increases will be at our expense
We are acting as your agent only and have no liability or responsibility for the performance of services by the airlines including, but not limited to, accident, death, personal injury, property damage or flight delay
Flight bookings are totally non refundable or transferable.
The accommodations are specified in the accomodation section of our website
All prices shown for accommodations are expressed in US dollars and per person
We reserve the right to offer an alternative accommodation of a similar standard in the case the accommodation specified in our web site is overbooked or for any reason beyond our control. No changes will be made after payment
