We just returned from a 6 day tour with Cultural Immersion that exceeded our expectations! My husband and I typically do the arranging of trips ourselves because we don't like to be tied down to itineraries but when it came down to visiting Peru we figure we give this tour company a try. I researched a lot of other tour companies and the value this company gave us price/itinerary/reviews it just seemed easier. From the beginning the tour company was very professional. They answered all my inquiries promptly. When it came time to making changes to the itinerary because we wanted to have some time to explore Lima on our own, no problems there. When I had issues with payment because my credit card thought a charge was strange, they were patient in allowing time for the issue to be resolved. Overall the arranging of the trip was handled professionally! Once in Peru the drivers were always on time if not earlier. Our tour guide, Alvaro, was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the Inca culture as well as Peru from him. We spoke to another couple who were wrapping up their 16 days tour with the company and they were equally pleased with them. Thank you Eduardo, Hanna, Carlos and Alvaro for such a great experience!
My husband and I had an excellent experience with Cultural Immersions from the moment we called the agency and inquired about the tour. We worked closely with Hannah (via email) who carefully helped us plan an incredible (and stress free) journey. She was detailed and answered every question during the planning of this wonderful trip. Upon arrival, we were immediately taken care of! Our main guide was Willow, and he was a fun-loving local expert on Peru! We never had to worry about the itinerary because Willow always provided us with guidance and insight on everything that was planned. We also had a kind-hearted tour driver Cayetano. Willow and Cayetano were a great team and kept our trip fun and exciting! Throughout the trip, we truly enjoyed how the tour was "off the beaten path" and meeting many locals made our experience more authentic and culturally immersed us for sure. Thanks to Cultural Immersions we have made many lifelong memories of Peru. Absolutely loved it!
This company did such a great job organizing an itinerary. Our group got to do many things I know I would not have had a chance to experience had I organized a trip for myself, including a visit to a traditional community and a guide that was not only knowledgeable, but also very fun to interact with. We also recieved a culinary lesson and made ceviche (which I, personally, did not eat.) While I may not be able to travel back to Peru anytime soon, I would definitely contact this company again if I did.
Our tour guide, "Chino", was absolutely incredible. He brought everything to life and made the trip so much fun.
We had a great time in Peru, Cusco and Machu Pichu!. It was one of my most unforgettable trips! Eduardo and Hannah helped us all along with the trip planning and were prompt in their email responses. Our tour guide Jose was very professional and more importantly knew the historical significance of all the sites we visited. He would explain the sites and was patient enough to answer all our questions .There were no "surprises" during the entire trip and we felt safe. Airport pickups at Lima and Cusco were well arranged. At the end of the day it was worth the money spent. I would definitely recommend Cultural immersion!
We recently returned from a 9 day private tour of Peru with Cultural Immersion and couldn't have been happier. From the time that we landed in Cusco until we departed from Lima, this local tour company provided us with an impeccable level of service that made our trip truly special. Everyone that we dealt with - from Eduardo, the owner, to Sofia, our tour coordinator, to Alvarro, our AMAZING guide, to Carlos, our driver - made every effort to ensure that we were well taken care of and enjoyed our trip. Our personalized itinerary (we were traveling with 2 teenaged boys) included tours of all of the important sights, plus opportunities to meet local people in their homes, plus outdoor activities like biking, hiking and horseback riding. We even took a cooking class in Cultural Immersion's brand new cooking studio which was fabulous. We can't recommend this company enough for a personalized tour of Peru.
We went to Peru in May 2011 and planned our trip in the Cuzco region and Machu Picchu with Cultural Immersion. From the emails back and forth before our trip even started I was pleased with the way they were giving us all the information I needed. When we arrived to our hotel, they've lefted there few hours to rest and then we started our tour which was awesome. The city, the Inca ruins and Machu Picchu....WOW!! It was nice to have a tour guide to give us description of how things were done. There was only one misunderstanding between us and Cultural Immersion during our ride back from Machu Picchu to Cusco since our train was dropping us to a place in between. I called them prior to board the train and they reassured me that it was the right train and that there would be someone there waiting for us to drive us back to Cusco for the rest. I was glad I could call them during our trip and again, it reassured us when we were not sure what to do. I have to say that I was really please with the service provided by the whole team of Cultural Immersion and I recommend this touring company to everyone!!
We had a wonderful time with Cultural Immersion. The staff helped plan a wonderful trip. We received top-notch service. We were greeted promptly at the airport. Staff members called us to tell us times and driver's names. One staff member call to apologize when there was a room mix-up; which they made up for by giving us a suite the last two nights of our stay. Our guide in the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco was superb. Daniel carried my pack down from Machu Picchu Montain so that I could make it down. His knowledge and skills were fabulous. As he was coming to meet us one day, he learned of a teacher protest that would affect our travel. He quickly got on the phone and re-arranged our travel for the day to avoid problems. Our driver in the area, Libio, graciously waited with us at the Cusco airport to make sure that we had our boarding passes before leaving. And the owner, Eduardo, ate dinner with us on our final night. The whole time the staff of Cultural Immersion was available and professional. I cannot praise them or recommend the enough to anyone traveling in Peru.
We haven't even gone on our trip yet...but Natalie and Hannah at Cultural Immersion have been SO wonderful to work with on planning our trip I felt compelled to write a review. They created a completely customized itinerary for us, suggested hotels (even through I chose to book directly with the hotels) and have patiently and helpful answered so many questions. Working with them is easy (all via email), clear and is making me really excited for our vacation. I did a lot of research on TripAdvisor before reaching out to them and a few others. If you are trying to pick a tour guide for Peru, so far I think they are the best in town. I'll share my post-trip review as well, but, thought for some it might be helpful to know that the pre-planning has been out of this world.
