Travel on time, visiting the pre-incan archeological ruins of Kuelap, located in Chachapoyas. Then, discover the incan empire in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu.
Welcome to Peru. As most of the international flights arrive in Lima late and there are no connecting flights at night, you will stay in one of the hotels close to the airport for you to have a good rest before your early flight the next day.*If you would like to have an additional day to explore the city of Lima, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will customize your itinerary accordingly.**The comfort option includes a nearby hotel and we will provide a private driver to transfer you to and from the airport***The exclusive option includes the overnight at Holiday Inn. This hotel is outside of the airport, in the front. Holiday Inn provides a free and shared service of transfer from the exit customs to the door of the hotel and the way back the next day. If you would like to have a private transfer from and to the airport, please let us know.
****The luxury option includes the night at Costa del Sol. This hotel is inside of the airport so you will be able to reach it by walking just a few meters on your own. If you would like to have a guide to assist you, let us know.
Today you will take your flight towards the northern jungle of Peru from Lima. Upon your arrival to the Jaen Airport, a representative will be waiting to greet you and transfer you to the Gocta Lodge located in Cocachimba, you will be welcomed with an amazing view of the Marañon River and its connecting rivers, and waterfalls. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will have the rest of the day to enjoy at your leisure.
Today we will start the exploration of Chachapoyas with the Gocta waterfall visit, the third highest in the world. There are different routes to get there, but the most popular parts from Cocachimba. In the 5.5 Km of the path, we will cross cane crops, with their traditional trapiches, to later enter a beautiful cloud forest, with trees covered with orchids, lichens, and mosses.
The counselors of the Community will accompany us to explain both the ecosystem that surrounds us like the history of its community and of the waterfall. We recommend you leaving the lodge early to see the cock of the rocks, the emerald toucans, and other birds, as well as being the first ones to reach the falls. After visiting the waterfalls you will go back to your lodge where you will enjoy a delicious local lunch. You have the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
Today, explore and immerse yourself in the fortified city of Kuélap. We will drive you early in the morning to this important archaeological site of the Peru's northern Andes. After a pleasant and panoramic ride in a cable car and 30 minutes walk, we will arrive at this spectacular complex. Shape an architectural complex of stone characterized by its monumentality, with a large artificial platform. This extends over almost 600 m and has a perimeter of a wall that in some points reaches 19 m of height.
It is estimated that its construction began around the 6th century, coinciding with the period of the Chachapoyas culture, and their work should have culminated towards the middle of the sixteenth century.
Its colossal walls and its complex interior architecture are evidence of its function as a well-organized population, including administrative, religious, ceremonial and residential.
After an early breakfast, we will transfer you to the Jaen Airport for your domestic flight towards Cusco with a stop in Lima. Upon arrival to the Incan Empire of Cusco, your private tour guide will welcome you to the city and take you to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.
This day will be full of surprises and offers you plenty of possibilities to explore the culture and the nature of the Peruvian Andes.During the morning, you can learn about ancient Incan and pre-Incan agricultural methods, including a visit to the salt mines of Maras and local fields, you can also visit the circulate terraces of Moray used as an agriculture laboratory during the Incan time. As an alternative, you are also able to include sporty activities such as a biking tour through the stunning landscape of the Sacred Valley or a kayaking adventure on Waypo Lake, a calm lake between the snow-capped mountains. So please, let us know if you would like to bike or kayak this day!In the afternoon, you will be able to experience cultural activities, such as a visit to a local school that we support with our social projects. According to our concept at Cultural Immersion, you will make sure to provide you with an authentic experience, including interaction with the local communities who will be happy to show you around and allow you to partake in their daily life for a short time. *Lunch included this day
In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel for your private tour of Ollantaytambo, one of the last Incan refugees during Spanish colonization. You will step back in time as many of the houses and buildings continue to stand from the Incan empire and display original architecture. You will be invited to enter one of these houses to observe the building and the way in which the people used to live.Then we will take you to the train station of Ollantaytambo, where you will board the train to Aguas Calientes. On this one and a half hour spectacular train journey you will be able to observe a change in the landscape, from the typical Andean highlands to the beginning of the jungle.Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, your private tour guide will take you to the bus station and accompany you to the complex of Machu Picchu ´The Lost City of the Incas´. We truly recommend visiting this highlight in the afternoon, as it is less crowded which gives you the opportunity to better feel the spirit of this truly magic site. During your tour of this sacred Incan site, you will learn about the history and visit the truly remarkable temples of the Sun and the Condor. You will also see the aqueducts and houses while learning some interesting facts about the Incan Sacred Terraces. After your guided tour, you will have plenty of time to explore this truly magnificent site on your own. There are many short trek options, such as the one to the Sun Gate for an impressive view of Machu Picchu or a visit to the Incan Bridge, a secret entrance for the Incan Army.In the later afternoon, you will return to Aguas Calientes where you will you have the rest of the evening to spend at your leisure. You should not miss taking a bath in the hot springs or have a great dinner in one of our recommended restaurants.
Optional short Inca Trail: As an option today you could also replace this tour for the short Incan Trail to Machu Picchu, This is a great option we recommend you as it will not only let you enjoy fully of Machu Picchu without crowds but also includes a second visit the next morning. If you decide to do this you will take an early train in the morning and get off at the Km 104, from here you will start your trek, always accompanied by your private tour guide and walk for about 6 - 7 hours to reach Machu Picchu, upon arrival you will enjoy a first spectacular view of the citadel from the Sun Gate. The additional cost for this option is 200 USD per person including entrance ticket, tour guide, and Machu Pichu 2 day visit. If you would like to take this option you need to let us know in advance as there are limited spaces for the Inca Trail.
Today, you will have the morning to spend at your leisure on your own. You will have the opportunity to revisit Machu Picchu (entrance and bus tickets not included) to enjoy the many short trekking options or venture the famous mountain climb to the summit of Wayna Picchu, which can be scheduled at either 7 am or 10 am. However, there is a limit on the number of people who can climb each day so you will need to book it with us in advance. If you do not want to revisit Machu Picchu, you might want to take a walk through the crooked alleys of Aguas Calientes and observe the life of the people in this truly touristy place or take a bath in the hot springs of the place. After lunch, you will board the scenic train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival to the train station, we will pick you up and transfer you to Cusco by private van.
In the morning, your tour guide will meet you at your hotel to begin your city tour of Cusco. You will start the tour visiting the Temple of the Sun, ‘Qoricancha’, located on the main Avenida El Sol (Avenue of the Sun). This Incan site was one of the most worshipped and respected temples of the Incan Empire. We will then meet different squares ("plazas") of the city: The Main Plaza (Plaza de Armas), Regocijo and San Francisco. After our visits, we will explore the local neighborhood of San Blas, which is the most scenic area of the city and you will find many art galleries and enjoy the local contemporary art.*If you want to make your city tour more adventurous you can do it on a bike without any extra cost. Please, let us know if you want this option and we can provide the bicycles and equipment. In the afternoon, we will start our culinary experience by taking you to the San Pedro Market, where you will see a wide variety of goods including, the vast different kind of potatoes, corn, meat, cheese, fruits, etc. Afterwards, you will be taken to the Cusco Culinary Cooking Studio, located in the center of Cusco where our Peruvian professional chef will show you how to prepare the most popular and tasty dishes of the Andes of Peru, including a refreshing drink, appetizer, main course, dessert and of course, the famous Pisco Sour. In this fascinating tour you will not only be able to prepare your own meal but also enjoy the great Peruvian food.
Today your private driver will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the Cusco Airport for your domestic flight to Lima. You will arrive in Lima in time for your connecting international flight. We truly hope you had a wonderful Cultural Immersion in Peru!

The booking is accepted when Cultural Immersion receives the first deposit from its clients. At this point in time the contract between client and Cultural Immersion is effective and legally binding.
In order to secure the trip, we will require a 30% deposit of the total package price by the time of your booking.

Second Payment: Full Amount, to be paid 45 days prior to your arrival
In the case the booking will be proceeded 45 or less days to the arrival, the whole amount will be required in once.
If the booking is made 45 days or less from the arrival time then the whole amount will be required at the time of booking.

In case we need to cancel the tour (not related to situations beyond our control), we will refund your fully paid pre-payments or work with you to apply those payments to another tour
